H P 7 Plus tablet with $99
price tag could lead the market >>
While there is a tough competition in
the entry-level smartphone market,
there are just a few tablets available
with an affordable price. In such
market, Hewlett Packard, commonly
known as HP, stepped up and
introduced its HP 7 Plus tablet with a
price tag of $99 to grab the market
share. The newly announced tablet
has the potential to lead the current
market with decent list of
specifications.
HP 7 Plus, as the name suggests,
features a 7-inch display with 1024 x
600 pixels resolution. Under the
hood, there is an Allwinner
Technology A31 chipset 1GHz quad-
core Cortex-A7 CPU, 1GB of RAM and
Power VR SGX544MP2 GPU. On the
storage side, there is 8GB internal
storage which can further be
expanded through a microSD card of
up to 32GB.
The tablet has a 2-megapixel rear
camera, 0.3-megapixel front and
usual connectivity options such as
Wi-Fi, A-GPS and a microUSB port.
Lastly, a 2800mAh battery is available
to give five hours of claimed backup.
On the software front, there is
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating
system with just few pre-installed
apps and will not likely to receive
any further update.
HP has started selling the HP 7 Plus
tablet in the US market, but its
availability in other markets is yet to
be announced. The cheap price tag of
the tablet may attract a large number
of buyers who are currently looking
to opt for a Google Nexus or mid-
range tablets by domestic brands
